Sometimes people miss out on the most amazing cats because they are set on a certain look rather than looking for the right personality. And the cats that are most often overlooked and misunderstood are the stunning, majestic, mysterious black cats. Surprisingly, many people still have a mental block about black cats but in Great Britain and in Ireland they are considered very lucky! And in Scotland - a strange black cat on the front porch is believed to bring good fortune!

There is no such thing as an "ordinary black cat". Bombays - Persains - American Bobtails - Maine Coons - Munchkins - LaPerms - Norwegian Forrests - Chausie - Cornish Rex - Turkish Angora - Scottish Folds - Sphynx - Oriental Shorthairs & Longhairs - Manx - and more - ALL come in BLACK! :)  So - there is every chance that the black kitty you adopt would be a mix of one of these breeds! Whatever mix of breeds Sgt Pepper is, he inherited a beautiful, shiny, soft, silky coat and a loving disposition. Kind of ironic that something as unimportant as his color can determine his chances of finding someone to give him unconditional love.

Whoever adopts Sgt Pepper will indeed be very fortunate and have a playful, affectionate friend for years to come. He was rescued from a high-kill shelter along with his mom & 6 siblings when they were only 3 days old. Now he is almost 1 1/2 and the only one of his whole litter still waiting for a home - just because he is black. He  looks like a kitten in these pictures but they were taken just last week. He was just happy & playing in his hammock while spending another weekend at PetSmart. He will take a little bit of time to adjust to a new home - he has spent his whole life so far in the same foster home - but he is a kitten at heart and will very quickly understand how lucky he is and how wonderful it is to have a home and a family of his very own!! That will be the real beginning of Sgt Pepper's life!!
