Sharky! Everyone that sees Sharky at PetsMart loves him! He is so handsome with such a fun personality! But - that spunky personality makes him in need of the exact right home. He is not the right cat for young children or a family that is adopting their very first cat. He would do best in a home with a person or family that has a little feline experience! He needs someone that will recognize when he is getting over excited or just wants to be left alone for a little while. Kittens that are separated from their mom & litter mates too young, miss the opportunity to learn how to play nicely. When they play with people they might play too rough and treat your hand like it was another kitten - grabbing hold for all they are worth and biting! Sharky was rescued alone at about 10 weeks old & got his name because, even though he was really, really sweet, he was a bad biter. He obviously had not had his mom around long enough to teach him any manners! That's just one of the many things our foster homes deal with. He has improved so much from playing with other kittens (now teenagers) his age and people that know how to discourage that behavior. He can still give a little nip every now and then if you can't read his mood. It's never a bad bite but can be a bit of a shock to a child or someone that's not completely comfortable with a spunkier cat! Sharky gets along great with other cats & cat-friendly dogs. He's young and active and likes to play chase, play with toy mice or try to catch the light from a laser pointer! He doesn't love to be picked up and held for long periods of time but he wants to be where ever you are & cuddle up against you on the sofa while you watch TV! He could be a wonderful - GORGEOUS - companion for you & your other 4legged family members!! You can meet Sharky at the Adoption Center in PetsMart in Aventura on Saturday & Sunday. He'll be waiting for you!! Learn more about Adopt A Stray by visiting our website www.adoptastray.ws Please contact info@adoptastray.ws for more information about this pet. |
